Seattle Jazz Hall of Fame multi-instrumentalist/vocalist/composer Amy Denio plays The Royal Room with AMA Quartet, and the Return of “LA MOVIDA,” an all-out Latin dance party!!

8 pm • AMA Quartet has been described as a ‘rarely yodeling, always scintillating Latin American Afro Sephardic Eastern European gypsy circus chamber band!’ The group features Madeleine Sosin (vocals, violins, maracas, bombo and jarana), Abel Rocha (vocals, harp, guitar and cuatro), Ricardo Guity (percussion) and Amy Denio (voice, accordion).

10 pm • La Movida featuring DJ Darek Mazzone (Wo’ Pop, KEXP) – LA MOVIDA is an epic Latin dance party, fueled with deep grooves anchored by live DJ Darek Mazzone on the turntables (KEXPWo’Pop on 90.3 KEXP), and accentuated with live instrumentation from Amy Denio on saxophones (Kultur ShockThe Tiptons Sax Quartet), Tige DeCoster on bass (SuperSonesWest Seattle Soul) and Lalo Bello on percussion (Supersones, West Seattle Soul).

We are sad and disappointed that our dear friends in OU are unable to visit Seattle at this time. OU loves Seattle, so please consider this a temporary set-back. They appreciate their fans’ support, and hope everyone has a blast with Amy, Madeleine, Abel, Ricardo, Tige, Lalo and Darek (who they did an In-Studio with on their first visit). “It’s only a flesh wound, Lambchop.”
