Reservations are not being taken by the Café Paloma staff.

Come and enjoy some great music!
WHEN: 7:30 p.m., Friday, July 22
WHERE: Café Paloma, 93 Yesler (just west of 1st Avenue)

Here’s the lineup:

You will certainly remember Anna Vasilievskaya if you have experienced her performances at Muhabbet. She is lead singer of the duo Vas and Zas“, together withAndrey Zasypkin. The pair will share with you their passion for joyous and energetic Romani music.  They have
look forward to getting you foot tapping and hand clapping!

Sheila Fox,
revisiting Seattle from Albuquerque, performs at Muhabbet once again. She enjoys singing a variety of genres, with Ladino songs and Yiddish Art and Theater songs the focus in her professional career. She was lead vocalist with the Kosher Red Hots for over 15 years, and studied with Yiddish NEA Heritage Award Winner, Beyle Schaechter Gottesman. She also toured with Folksbienne Yiddish Theater director Zalmen Mlotek and Yiddish diva Adrienne Cooper. Of late, Sheila has been composing songs and will share a couple of those as well as a few Yiddish and Ladino songs.

The evening will wind up (not down!) with the award winning Latin American music duo, Correo Aereo: Abel Rocha & Madeleine Sosin, who will play some haunting, deep songs of the Americas. They will be joined by members of the Seattle Fandango Project:  Iris Viveros Avendano, Eduardo Sierra, & if we’re lucky, Shannon Dudley will make it back from Puerto Rico in time too for the vital, infectious Jarocho music from Veracruz, Mexico!

A NOTE ABOUT RESERVATIONS:

Please be careful to reserve only the number of seats that you are sure you are going to use, and not extra, because we need all the space we can get.

We are limiting reservations to four people in order to give a varied group of folks the chance to attend..

There is also some standing room, and it is not unusual that those standing will sooner or later be provided with a place to sit.

If you decide to cancel a reservation, please do so in advance (and let me know at this e-mail address) so that we can invite people who are on the waiting list.

It’s best to arrive between 7:00 and 7:20 p.m.. Reserved seats will only be held until 7:30.

Please be aware that, while admission is free, it’s a very good idea to have dinner at Café Paloma!

See you then!
